Decision briefs that reduce churn

A good decision brief does two things:

  • makes trade-offs explicit
  • assigns owners and next actions

Minimum sections

  • Context (what changed)
  • Options (2–3)
  • Constraints (procurement, security, time)
  • Recommendation (clear)
  • Risks + mitigations
  • Decision required + due date
